Saturday last saw the club competition commence. Our Reserve league 1 team had Clonguish as visitors to Pairc na Gael. Good weather made for ideal conditions for the game. Two Kevin Donohoe attacks from defence led to our two opening scores from

play. The balance of play was evenly contested with both sides exchanging points. We added a point from a free and three points from play before the half time whistle sounded. The half time score was deadlocked at Dromard 0-06 Clonguish 0-06. The second half was also keenly contested. We opened a two point lead by virtue of 2 scored frees. However the visitors finished strongly scoring 1-03 to finish 1-09 to 0-08 winners. We play Colmcille in round 2 of this league on St. Patrick’s Day next Saturday at 12.30pm in Fr. McGee Park.

Our special junior league team were defeated by Kenagh. We have no game in this competition this weekend.

Well done to Longford on recording a fine win away to Sligo on Sunday last. It is a great achievement to be topping the division with four rounds played. Best of luck to players and management when they take on Antrim in Pearse Park on Sunday next. Hard luck to our under 21’s who were narrowly defeated by Louth on Wednesday last. Lotto results for Monday night 5th March 2012.

The numbers drawn were 7, 13, 14 and 15. There was no jackpot winner. The winners of the draw were Cathal Reilly, Ethel Ellis, Linda McLoughlin and Karen Cooke. The seller's prize was won by Corrigan's Service Station, Legga.
