On Saturday last the club season started when we had Mostrim as visitors in the opening round of the Reserve league 1.  Weather was dry and cold with pitch conditions good after the recent wet spell.  Dromard settled into the game well and opened up a 2 point to nil lead compliments of points from play from Emmet Masterson and Noel Reynolds.  The visitors drew level by virtue of points from a free and play.  We then enjoyed a good spell of possession that yielded 3 points without reply, the first coming from a Gary Maguire free and the other 2 were a pointed free and effort from play from Ross McNerney.  Our opponents landed a further 2 points to narrowed the gap and leave the halftime score Dromard 0-05 Mostrim 0-04.  Try as they might Dromard were unable to add to this total in the second half while the lively opposition added 2-03 in the second period to finish ahead on the full time score line of Dromard 0-05 Mostrim 2-07.  Team and scorers;  Gavin McNerney, Enda Kiernan, Padraig McNerney, James Conefrey, Kieran McStay, John Sheridan, Niall McManus, Noel Reynolds, James Mimnagh, Emmet Masterson (0-01), Peter Reynolds (0-01), Enda Macken, Ross McNerney (0-02) 1 free, Donal Sheridan, Gary Maguire (0-01) 1 free.  Subs used; Sean McNerney and Martin McGee.  Next game in this competition is on Saturday away to Colmcille at 5.30pm. Our reserve league 3 team opened their campaign with a home fixture with Grattans on Saturday last. We fielded a youthful team who performed very well on the day. With assistance of the breeze it was the Stonepark men who had the upper hand in the early stages and by half time had built up a 3-06 to 0-02 lead.  On the turnover Dromard started to play to their abilities and came right back into the game with 4 second half goals. While we trailed at the finish on the score line of Dromard 4-04 Grattans 4-09, this was a very good display by all. Team and scorers;  Niall Berry, Conor Kiernan, Ronan Smith, Niall Mc Manus (0-1), Eugene McNaboe, Robert Cooke, Martin McGee (1-01), Peter Mimnagh (0-02), Liam Doherty (2-00), Sean McNerney (1-00).  This squad has a bye in the next round so won't have a game next week. Congratulations to Ross McNerney on his recent All Ireland fresher win DCU. Congratulations to Longford under 21 panel and management on a terrific win against Dublin during the past week.  Hard luck to Longford seniors who were narrowly defeated by Galway on Sunday last.  Better luck on their next outing this Saturday which takes them to Celtic Park, Derry.  Sincere condolences to the Masterson family Cornakelly and the O Haire family Dromard on their recent bereavements. Lotto results for Monday night 4th March 2013. The numbers drawn were 7, 14, 23 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. The winners of the draw were Thomas Casey, Noel Tierney, Nancy Turley (twice!!).
