We had two league games this past week.  On the bank holiday Monday we had Rathcline as visitors to Pairc na Gael.  The weather was warm with no breeze leaving conditions favourable for football.  A Francis McGee free following a foul on Ross McNerney was the first score of the game.  We then struck with 4 goals, 3 coming from Cían Mimnagh and the fourth coming from Francis McGee.  Rathcline replied with a goal and a point of their own.  We added further scores before the half time whistle sounded.  The score at the break was Dromard 5-06 Rathcline 1-01.  Dromard kept the pressure up in the second half building on their lead.  Rathcline kept competing right to the end but it wasn't to be their day. The full time score was Dromard 7-16 Rathcline 1-06. Team and scorers; Damien Sheridan, Padraig McNerney, Peter Masterson, James Mimnagh, Paul McGee (0-01), Peter Reynolds, Micheal Reilly (0-02), Noel Reynolds, Bernard Sheridan, Emmet Masterson, Francis McGee (1-01) 1 free, Gary Maguire (0-02), Ross McNerney (0-01), Declan Mimnagh (3-04) 2 frees, Cían Mimnagh (3-04) 1-0 pen.  Subs used; Ronan McEntire, Gavin McNerney, Cathal Conefrey, Donie Conefrey (0-01) and Conal Murphy. Our second outing of the week was against Carrickedmond in Moran Park on Friday evening last. A glorious summer evening made for ideal conditions.  Carrickedmond were first off the mark with two early points before Francis McGee converted a 45.  The home side added another point from play before Ronan McEntire point from play and a Francis McGee pointed free levelled the scores.  The sides exchanged two points each by virtue of well taken points from Emmet Masterson and Francis McGee.  Our opponents landed two more points to edge ahead.  Gary Maguire then found the net for the game's only goal and this was followed up with a James Martin free after a foul on Gary Maguire which proved to be the last score of the half.  Half time score was Dromard 1-06 Carrickedmond 0-06.  We started the second half strongly scoring the opening four points of the half coming from Francis McGee (3 from play) and a Ronan McEntire effort from play.  Carrickedmond pulled a point back but Dromard added a point from a free from Francis McGee and Ronan McEntire point from play.  This was cancelled out by two points from the home team before a point from play by Francis McGee closed the scoring for the day to leave the final score Dromard 1-13 Carrickedmond 0-09.  Team and scorers; Damien Sheridan, David Pettit, Peter Masterson, James Mimnagh, Paul McGee, Peter Reynolds, Mícheál Reilly, Noel Reynolds, Bernard Sheridan, Emmet Masterson (0-1), Francis Mc Gee (0-8) 2 frees, 1 45, Kevin Donohoe, Ronan Mc Entire (0-3), Declan Mimnagh, Gary Maguire (1-0).  Subs used.  Padraig Mc Nerney, James Martin (0-1) 1 free, Donie Conefrey, Gavin Mc Nerney, Enda Kiernan.  Other sub on the day was Cathal Conefrey.  We wish a speedy recovery to Noel Reynolds and Declan Mimagh who picked up injuries on the evening.  Our next outing in the senior league is away to Abbeylara this Friday at 8pm.   Our div. 3 game away to Forgney due to be played Sunday last was moved to this Wednesday in Forgney at 8pm.  We also play Shroid in div. 3 this Sunday in Pairc na Gael at 2.30pm.  Hard luck to Padraic Jones who lined out with Mostrim, who were defeated by Longford Slashers in the reserve league 1 final on Sunday last after a competitive game.  Best of luck to Longford juniors who take on Cavan in the Leinster junior championship this week.
